Here we go...

Another season of exciting Whittier lacrosse is just around the corner, a few short months away.

The guys are busily preparing by working together on the field, getting to know one another. We are looking forward to an exciting year as we welcome one of the largest freshman classes in Whittier Lacrosse history. Judging by the talk around the field, this team is also one of the most talented group of guys we have seen here in quite a long time...thinking what we're thinking?

Our job is no less important. We've been busily organizing ourselves as parents, alumni and fans to support the team in many ways this year. Our agenda is ambitous but not unrealistic. We're welcoming our new board headed by co-chairs Patrick and Chris Clifton. Patrick and Chris are parents and live in Arizona. They are supported on the board by Greg and Nancy Fisher as vice presidents and Bill McCarroll is returning as our Treasurer. We are also honored to welcome former Whittier Lacrosse head coach Doug Locker as an advisor and member of our board. Doug was recently inducted into Whittier's hall of fame.

We're proud to welcome Coach Nate Watkins, and assistant coaches Dave Gerbarg, James Morgan and Danny McCormick for 2009.

We have also added the first preliminary schedule for the 2009 season on our schedule page. For those of you who have been around for a while, you will know that this schedule is likely to change as we get closer to the beginning of the season, so make sure you check back here from time to time to stay up to date. We will also be adding game times as they are given to us by Coach Watkins and his staff.

We are also working with our alumni to heighten their important support to the program. Doug Locker is going to be a huge help in this regard and we're excited about the possibilities of energizing our alumni in support of the program. One major goal of ours has been to document the history of Whittier Lacrosse and publish it to this site.
